There are several ways how you can format a password field design. As a designer, it is sometimes difficult to decide; which design is actually better? Designs can sometimes be very similar but the impact how a user views them can be very different.Â
Password field design
Option A shows the progress of entering a password. The user can see which parts he/she is missing to create a strong password.
Option B shows a scale. This scale shows only how strong a password is. It is up to the user whether he/she is satisfied with the strength of his/her password. The further the bar of the scale is filled, the stronger the password is.
